Slashing, Piercing, Impact
Three damage types, and enemies that are visibly built to punish whichever one you brought.
The three types are called slashing, piercing and impact in game, and they are not flavour text. The first ten minutes teach you that the rusted sword is the wrong tool for a skeleton: it rings off, and the enemy keeps coming. Swap to a club and the same skeleton folds.
What makes this more than a rock-paper-scissors chart is that the type is tied to weapon feel. The club’s overhead swing is slow enough that committing to it against a fast enemy is its own mistake, so the correct answer is never just the right damage type; it is the right damage type that you can still land.
Enemy design does the teaching, mostly without text. Ladybug-like ratty bugs die to slashing. Skeleton warriors in the crypt want impact. Armoured types that shrug off the sword are the demo’s way of telling you to carry more than one weapon, which is exactly what the slot system allows.
